There's a scary kind of calmness in me.
My life is far from perfect. If you look at it from the world's perspective, many things are missing. And I don't know if I need to be scared or worried that I might just be procrastinating or something because I feel so...calm.
Like even when things aren't perfect---I get exhausted from working, I get bored, I get sick, my body clock is ticking a little more loudly. Still I feel at peace inside.
Not everything's going my way.
Traffic is still dreadful.
Income tax is still a burden.
Zac Efron is dating someone.
Ugh!
Traffic is still dreadful.
Income tax is still a burden.
Zac Efron is dating someone.
Ugh!
There might be a storm outside, but I'm perfectly calm inside.
The right people, circumstances and opportunities come to me effortlessly. Sometimes I have to pause and ask myself if I'm dreaming. It feels unreal to be blessed this much.
I don't know what to make of this scary kind of calmness in me.
I don't know if it's normal.
I just know I'm unperturbed by the chaos around me.
I think that's a good thing.
Don't you?

All I can say, partly b/c I've gone through a lot of things since I was a small kid...and now I'm an old lady [will be 70 in July]...all I can count on is that the Lord will heal me here or draw me to heaven at the time He needs me to be there. All we can do is focus on Him, in spite of all the other stuff that's strongly around and about us. Thank you for sharing. I like your photo and the Word. Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could be as calm as you...not scary at all as long as you feel content with your calmness. So happy you linked up with us at Thursday Favorite Things.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very good thing!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I've decided it's "the peace that passes understanding," rather than denial!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful thing. A peace that surpasses all understanding. I truly wish I felt that kind of calm. Thanks for sharing with TGI Saturdays and blessings to you. Hope you can visit with us this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I needed today. Need to escape the hectic dad to day and just "Be still".
ReplyDeleteExcluding Zac Efron, I believe that we have the same worries. Traffic. Taxes. And many more. Well, these problems will not go away because they are part of life. We have to fight fight fight even in the midst of boredom and exhaustion.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a good thing. Nice to be at peace with oneself.
ReplyDeleteScary kind of calmness inspite of all the upheavals all around you is something wonderful. Most of us get disturbed and our peace is shattered when things don't go the way we want. So you are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time your words scary kind of calmness reminded me of the words === CALM BEFORE THE STORM. I wonder whether this the reason you are using the words SCARY KIND OF CALMNESS.
God is always with us and helps us to cross one hurdle after the other as we approach them.
Best wishes
I think you are in a great place Lux... being calm and relaxed no matter your circumstances... it's what most of us aspire too... I've had short moments like that and totally enjoyed them... it feels good to be that calm xox ♡
ReplyDeleteYou're admirable Lux! You're definitely not dreaming; you're blessed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift God has given you, Lux! There is that peace that passes any kind of understanding ... and it's so very life-giving. Love this post!

You are very lucky! I think lots of people would love to have that inner peace, especially considering the insanity going on lately. I don't have that inner peace -- at least not lately. But I do count myself as VERY fortunate!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you have peace in your heart... because peace comes to us when we need it the most, usually in the midst of difficult situations. Indeed, we can have peace in the midst of the storm - and I pray you continue to find peace in your heart and life, no matter what circumstances come your way. In Christ, we can rest content in His peace! Blessings and hugs to you today Lux! Thank you for being a faithful visitor to my blog, I do appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteCalmness is something many are seeking and you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI also have that scary situation in life when everything is so sound that you're afraid that something might happen sometime. But i'd say, just enjoy the moment, we have ups and downs in life, today is your happiness, live it! the Lord wants you to live that ligfe! to live the calmness of the sea today. :)

ReplyDeleteBe grateful for the inner piece that you feel. Embrace and accept your perfect life. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's no point in getting worked up because of things out of your control. Traffic, taxes and Zack Efron, whatever's the hell that is, are not worth the stress. Contentment and fulfillment breed a certain kind of calm. We shouldn't worry once we feel that calm.
ReplyDeletecalm is good. Zac Efron is dating? He is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could send some of that calmness my way. I become a nervous wreck very easily!
ReplyDeleteThe peace of God is a wonderful gift. Enjoy it whilst it lasts!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the calm while it lasts! Life is filled with ups and downs, and turmoil and calm periods. You just have to ride the waves and enjoy the experiences that each cycle brings.
ReplyDeleteI can relate, I do feel the same way.. Haha. Or maybe it's because I'd rather see things in a positive way. :)

ReplyDeleteNothing can be perfect, and that inner calm is very valuable and important to face life!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly good that you feel this calm - worrying has helped no one with getting anywhere. Just keep working towards living the life you want to live, and things will fall in place with the grace of God in time. It definitely is a blessing to feel the way you do at the moment as well ^.^
ReplyDeleteYou struck a chord with this one! Am sharing it right now. Exquisite!
ReplyDeleteLove this and your spirit, Lux! Keep writing and sharing your heart!
ReplyDeleteI would actually love to feel that kind of calmness. I get anxious and restless very quickly... In fact I try to remain calm at most of the things happening around me... Loved this post.
