Books Wild for You by Kristen Proby Book Review 1:11 PM Wild for You by Kristen Proby Book Review I’ve found my next small-town romance obsession! Wild for You kicks off Kristen Proby’s Montana-set The Wilds of Montana series with cowboys, charm, and the kind of love story that makes me sigh and swoon. Here's my Wild for You honest book review.Wild for You Book SummaryRemington Wild has a ranch to run, two adorable kids to raise, and zero time for distractions—until Erin Montgomery walks into his life. She’s sweet and sunny and just needs the help he needs to wrangle his chaos. Not to mention, she’s also the gorgeous barista he’s been secretly crushing on for months.Erin came to Bitterroot Valley to escape big-city life and find her happy place. She didn’t expect her new nanny gig to bring her face-to-face with the town’s hottest cowboy and his endearing kids. She knows mixing business with pleasure is a no-go, but resisting the gruff rancher’s charms is easier said than done.As secrets from the past threaten their new love and his kids’ safety, they’ll need more than chemistry to hold on to their happily ever after.TropesSingle Dad x NannyBest friend’s brotherAge gapGrumpy x SunshineCowboy RomanceSmall-townA dash of suspense (stalker)CharactersRemington WildSingle dad with two adorable kids.Grumpy, brooding rancher who underneath has a soft soul.Juggling running Wild River Ranch while being a total dad icon.“𝑌𝑜𝑢’𝑟𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑚 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑔𝑟𝑢𝑚𝑝𝑦 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑟, 𝑦𝑜𝑢’𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔. Lux Thinking Aloud My Word for 2025: Expand 9:31 PM My Word for 2025: Expand Who else isn’t big on resolutions? I know I’m not. Instead, since 2014, I’ve been choosing a word for the year. It’s like a theme that sets the tone for what’s to come. It’s a small tradition that helps me focus and grow intentionally. Have you picked yours yet? Here’s my word for 2025:ExpandTo expand means to broaden, to stretch beyond what you already know, and to grow into something greater. That’s exactly what I’m planning to do this year. It’s not about stepping out of my comfort zone. That phrase feels too forced. Instead, it’s about extending my reach, building on what I know and love, and growing from there. Does that make sense? On My ReadingIf you’ve followed my book reviews and recommendations, you know romance novels are my go-to. I can finish them in one sitting because they’re my favorite escape. But this year, I’m mixing it up. I’m adding non-fiction to my list—autobiographies and self-help books, specifically. I’ve already started with Forgiving What You Can’t Forget, and wow, it’s a journey.Reading non-fiction is slower for me, and that’s okay. Unlike romance, non-fiction isn’t meant to be devoured. It’s meant to be savored—absorbed in small bits, reflected on, and applied to life.Health & WellnessIn addition to my usual Pilates and yoga routine, I’m bringing back something I used to love: dancing. I don’t know why I stopped (thanks, adulting!), but it’s time to revisit that part of me.I'd love your recommendations if you know of any fun, beginner-friendly dance classes (nothing like Zumba or overly complex choreography). Let’s keep it simple and joyful!Career in Digital MarketingOver the years, I’ve learned that clients value results over certifications. That said, continuous learning is essential—especially in digital marketing, where everything evolves quickly.Pinterest MarketingLast year, I started my journey as a Pinterest marketer, and it’s already been rewarding. My clients are seeing real, profitable results, and I’m just getting started. This year, I’m doubling down on Pinterest.SEO Content MarketingI am also sharpening my SEO skills. After all, content writing is my first love, and SEO is the magic that brings it to life for online businesses. There's something satisfying about typing a keyword and seeing the article on top of the search results page. Happy for my client and myself!YouTube VideosThis isn’t a career move or a product I’m selling. It’s more of an experimental project for me. I recently created a YouTube channel, Sound Sleep Solutions, featuring white noise and relaxing background audio. It’s perfect for:Focusing during work or studyMeditating and finding calmImproving sleep qualityAdding a soothing background soundtrack to your dayWhat’s next? To align with my 2025 word, Expand, I’m taking this project further:Uploading content to YouTube Music (I just discovered it’s a separate platform!).Sharing my tracks on Spotify for broader reach.Adding more white noise options and creating new relaxing music tracks to cater to diverse preferences. If you’re looking for peaceful sounds to enhance your day, I’d love for you to check it out. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome! 😊Selling Digital ProductsI started selling digital products on Amazon last year.My Amazon, Tales N Doodles, sells children’s coloring books and journal notebooks with witty covers (you can see previews of the products on the right side of this page if you're reading with your laptop).I’m expanding my collection with adult coloring books and upgraded journals this 2025. Journaling has been a big part of my life lately, so why not create something others will love, too? I have other plans I'm excited about. Stay tuned for more!Expanding My CircleI wish I could say I’m joining clubs or doing volunteer work this year, but let’s be honest—that’s a no for me. As an introvert, homebody, and self-proclaimed anti-social human, I’m perfectly content with my circle as it is.However, I am expanding my online network by connecting with fellow book lovers on Bookstagram and Goodreads. If you’re there too, let’s link up!Travels and ExperiencesFingers crossed that 2025 brings more opportunities to explore new places and create unforgettable memories. While I can’t make solid plans yet due to personal and logistical reasons, I’m hopeful. Here’s to manifesting positive outcomes!Past Words for InspirationIf you’re thinking of choosing a word for your year, here are some of mine from the past for inspiration:2024: Elevate – Improving in what I do and who I am.2023: No – Saying no to the less important so I can say yes to what truly matters.2020: Premium – Choosing not to settle for less.2019: Milestone – A year of many firsts.2018: Spontaneous – Embracing spontaneity, even as a control freak.2017: Winning – Overcoming inner battles and emerging victorious.2016: Unorthodox – Doing things differently and stepping out of character when necessary.2015: Better – Striving to be better than the year before.2014: More – Saying yes to more experiences, opportunities, and growth.Word for 2025Have you chosen your word for 2025? I’d love to hear it! Whatever it is, I pray this will be a year of breakthroughs, answered prayers, and healing for us all.

Travels Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay: Hotel Review 9:56 PM Mövenpick Resort and Spa Boracay: Hotel Review I've been to Boracay multiple times—single, engaged, married, before and after its temporary closure—and extensively explored Stations 1 and 2. Yet, nothing compares to my recent stay at Station Zero, specifically in Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay. Here's my honest hotel review of this Green Globe-certified, family-friendly paradise. But first...Why Visit BoracayBoracay is a tropical paradise renowned for its powdery white sand, breathtaking sunsets, and warm, hospitable locals. Over the years, this island has transformed into a vibrant, tourist-friendly destination, offering accommodations that range from luxurious 5-star hotels to charming boutique inns. Its bustling malls, supermarkets stocked with local and imported products, and diverse restaurants cater to every palate.Choosing Where to Stay in BoracayBoracay's main beach is divided into three key areas:Station 1: Known for its upscale resorts and quieter ambiance.Station 2: The heart of the action with bustling nightlife and restaurants.Station 3: Ideal for budget travelers.Station Zero, however, stands apart for its exclusivity, tranquility, and sophistication. If you're looking for a more relaxing and secluded experience, Mövenpick Resort & Spa is the perfect choice.Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay: Our Memorable ExperienceSeamless TransitMövenpick Boracay ensures a hassle-free transfer experience, making arrivals and departures smooth and stress-free.Key features of the transit service:Punctuality: The staff was on time for the airport pickup. (We didn't get the transfer to the airport, as we stayed in a different hotel before our trip back.)Efficient Coordination: We were warmly greeted and guided to the exclusive Mövenpick van upon arrival at the airport. The transition to the speedboat was seamless, with staff handling our luggage every step of the way. There was no waiting.Comfortable Journey:The van was clean and air-conditioned, offering ample space for our party of two couples during the pickup. The speedboat ride was swifter than when you were taking the public boat.Warm Welcome: At the resort, a welcoming staff greeted us with Mövenpick's signature iced tea and cold towels, setting the tone for a luxurious stay. This well-orchestrated process made travel to and from the resort effortless, allowing us to focus on enjoying our vacation from the very start. We're glad we paid extra for this service; it was worth it.Free Shuttle ServiceConvenient free shuttle service makes exploring the island easy and hassle-free.Schedules are regular and well-managed, ensuring guests can comfortably visit nearby attractions or the D'Mall shopping area.If you want to explore other parts of the island or go outside the schedule, inform the concierge, and they will call an Etrike driver from the main road. Expect a fare of 200-300 pesos, though some drivers may ask for more. It's best to negotiate the price. Here's their current schedule (as of December 2024):There is also a free shuttle around the resort, which makes it easier to move between buildings.5-Star Service & ExperienceOur arrival wasn't without hiccups, as the first room we were assigned had an issue. However, the management resolved it swiftly, upgrading us to a Junior Master Suite. The room's spectacular view and luxurious amenities more than made up for the initial mishap.Stunning ViewI love that, whether grabbing breakfast at The Market, having dinner at Brezza, or partying at Sol Marina Beach Club, you can always enjoy a great view of the vast pool and the beach. Plus, our suite's balcony offers a pretty sweet view of both.Enjoying this romantic view with my husbandThe Junior Master SuiteThe suite was a harmonious blend of modern elegance and cozy charm. Here's what stood out for me:Design: The room featured warm wooden flooring, soft ambient lighting, and a plush panel-style headboard that exuded understated luxury.Bathroom: A frosted glass partition added a contemporary flair while maintaining an open and airy feel. The dual vanity and massive bathtub were perfect for couples.Balcony: Sheer curtains provided privacy without obstructing the view of lush greenery and sky. Blackout curtains were a lifesaver for sleeping in.Amenities: Every detail was thoughtfully curated, from the sustainable comb and brush to various teas and toiletries. The suite was a sanctuary, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. We didn't mind that it was stormy during our first three days in Boracay because we were cozy in our room.Dining OptionsMövenpick offers four dining establishments, each with its own unique appeal:1. The Market: Specializes in Filipino cuisine.Serves an extensive breakfast buffet we enjoyed every morning.Breakfast includes fresh juices, pastries, and options for meat lovers and vegetarians.Limited choices for strict vegans during lunch and dinner.2. Sol Marina Beach Club: Beachfront bar with a view.Ideal for cocktails, dinner, or enjoying the sunset.3. The Café: Located near reception.Serves desserts and café-style food overlooking a serene garden pond.4. Brezza: An Italian gem and our favorite! The truffle pasta stood out, and the decadent chocolate mousse was unforgettable. They also serve scrumptious pizza. The ambiance with Italian music and a sunset view made for a perfect dining experience.Staff ExperienceBiancaLet's talk about our favorite server for a hot minute.Bianca, one of the servers at Mövenpick Boracay's Brezza restaurant, elevated our dining experience.Bianca exuded a natural charm that made us feel welcomed and cared for. She remembered our preferences, checked in with perfect timing, and ensured every meal detail was spot on. Her radiant smile and friendly attitude were infectious. You don't often encounter this level of service. It's rare to meet someone who loves their job so visibly, and Bianca is a testament to the top-tier staff Mövenpick employs. Her dedication to creating a delightful guest experience deserves recognition. If Mövenpick is looking for a benchmark in customer relations, Bianca sets the bar high. The Other Guy 😏That Market server should learn from her, too. When we asked why our reserved dinner table was already occupied, he simply said, "I'll let our captain know of your concern," brushing us off.First of all, this is a wrong response. We don't need to talk to their "captain." They should have just informed the other guests that the table was reserved.Second, that didn't even address our question. He didn't bother checking the system to see if there was indeed an oversight. Honestly, we weren't upset; we were just surprised and wondered why someone was sitting there. It's no biggie—mix-ups happen, and we get that. But that response was frustrating.Fortunately, the female server who had personally reserved the table for us spoke to the manager. From then on, they made sure the table was reserved for us every day we were there. They didn't have to go that extra mile. The manager did top-notch customer service, and we truly appreciated their effort to make things right. Everyone else did a great job during our stay. Maybe that guy was just having a bad day. Let's give him that. Signature Chocolate HourEvery afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, guests are treated to an array of FREE chocolates: brownies, chocolate fondue, cookies, and more. It's a delightful indulgence for both kids and adults. Let's just say we didn't hold back!Seasonal Events & ProgramsWe stayed there during the week of Halloween. The resort organized family-friendly events, including games and activities for children. The staff also encouraged us to return during the holidays as they prepared fun programs for Christmas and New Year. These thoughtful touches reflect Mövenpick's commitment to creating memorable experiences for every guest.Private BeachOne of the biggest perks of staying at Mövenpick is access to its private beach. This beach, accessible only to guests of Mövenpick, Crimson, and Shangri-La, offers a peaceful retreat from the busier main beach. Here's what stands out:Tranquility: No constant interruptions from vendors. Those present at the far edges respect boundaries and approach only if called.Sheltered Location: Nestled between Crimson and Shangri-La, the beach is naturally shielded from strong winds, even on stormy days.Safe and Comfortable: Lifeguards are on duty, with clear swimming condition flags. I recommend wearing water shoes due to some coral along the shoreline (it's not the signature powdery sand of Boracay in this area).Extra Touches: Towels are provided after a swim. Tip: Ask for towels fresh from the laundry because these are warmer. The soft white sand, turquoise waters, and breathtaking sunsets make this private beach a slice of paradise. The yellow lines mark where turtle eggs are buried in the sand.Multi-Level PoolThe resort boasts one of the most beautiful pools I've seen, with:Multiple levels spanning a vast area.A safe 4-ft depth, suitable for kids and non-swimmers.Water volleyball, jacuzzis (blower only, no heater), and a dedicated shallow section for toddlers. The pool offers breathtaking views of the beach, creating a stunning backdrop for relaxation. It's only a few steps from the restaurants, so you can quickly get snacks and drinks.Sagay SpaAs spa enthusiasts and self-proclaimed spa critics (lol), my husband and I were impressed with the treatments at Sagay Spa:Exceptional Therapists: Jenny (?), my husband's therapist, and my own, MJ and Sun, were highly skilled and attentive. High-quality oils: I love that they used premium oils that absorbed beautifully, leaving skin soft and subtly scented. (They don't have to wipe you with hot towels after the session like in other spas.) I believe lavender, floral, and peppermint are the scents available. A serene ambiance complete with soothing scents and music.Although pricier than other spas (2,500 Php or $43 for 60 minutes), overall, it was a pleasant experience.Note: I pride myself on sharing only honest reviews on my blog, so I'd like to add that I've had just as good massages at cheaper prices in Dumaguete (350 Php or $6) and Punta Bulata (less than 1k Php or $17). There are also massage places outside the resort that offer good services for a cheaper price.Suggestions for MövenpickWhile Mövenpick Boracay delivers an overall fantastic experience, a few areas of improvement could make a significant difference:Enforcing the No-Smoking Policy: Smoking outside the designated area was a recurring issue during our stay. Some guests were smoking in spaces like the sunbeds near The Market and behind Brezza, both of which are just steps away from the designated smoking zone. 🤯 This is not the resort's fault (some people just have a hard time following the rules), but it detracts from the resort's otherwise serene environment and compromises the comfort of non-smoking guests. Adding clear signage around the property and reminding guests of this policy during check-in would go a long way. A gentle but firm approach to enforcement is essential to maintain the resort's pristine atmosphere.Vegetarian, Vegan, and Pescatarian Dining Options: While the breakfast buffet offered a great variety, the lunch and dinner menus, particularly at The Market, could use more inclusive options for guests with dietary preferences or restrictions. Expanding the vegetarian, vegan, and pescatarian offerings would enhance the experience for a broader audience.Maintenance at the Fun Hub: Certain facilities, such as the billiards table and cue sticks, showed signs of wear and tear. Ensuring these are well-maintained would keep the Fun Hub an enjoyable retreat for guests.Localized Social Media Presence: Creating dedicated social media accounts for individual Mövenpick locations would improve direct communication. Guests could ask location-specific questions without being redirected to general email or phone contacts.Summary: What to Expect at Mövenpick BoracayOur rating for this hotel resort? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This resort checks all the boxes for a luxurious, family-friendly getaway:Exceptional service with staff trained for excellence.Tranquil and exclusive location away from the bustling crowds.Gorgeous views, top-notch amenities, and thoughtfully curated activities. How to get to Movenpick Resort & SpaFrom Caticlan AirportExit the airport: Once you arrive at Caticlan Airport, walk past the vans and look for the tricycles waiting outside.Take a tricycle to Caticlan Jetty Port: The fare is around PHP 75 if you're traveling alone or PHP 50 per person if you're traveling in a group. Books Book Review: Born of Ice by Daisy Thorn 10:50 PM Book Review: Born of Ice by Daisy Thorn We are stronger together, Exton. We are made of one. We are born of the same ice.Born of Ice by Daisy Thorn might just be her most electrifying love story yet. I’m so used to her sunny romcoms that have me snorting with laughter and shaking my head at the ridiculous, over-the-top devotion of her love-struck heroes. But this book? It’s different. It’s darker than her previous works, not because it lacks heart, but because it dives into pain, loss, and the raw, messy journey of healing and rediscovery. And yet, I love this book just the same (maybe even more). Needless to say, I was thrilled to receive an advanced copy and share my Born of Ice book review with you.Born of Ice Summary⛸️ For Electra Monroe, life was golden—an Olympic figure skating dream within reach and a love story set to last a lifetime—until a single moment shattered everything. Now confined to a wheelchair, she’s bitter, broken, and hiding from the world in a cabin by the frozen lake. 🏒 Enter Exton “Axe” Quinn, one of the best defensemen in the league, a gruff hockey player with a bruised soul and a forced time-out from his career. Axe has no patience for coddling and even less for Electra’s sharp tongue. Despite their rocky start, their clash of personalities slowly turns into a powerful bond. For a book about people who live and breathe ice, Electra and Axe just blaze and burn with a passion that could melt glaciers. And you won’t hear me complaining.Intense ExchangesFrom the get-go, their dynamic is explosive. Axe walks - no, he literally barges - into Electra’s life with the subtlety of a sledgehammer, calling her a “cripple” (yes, you read that right) and bossing her around like he owns the place. Let me tell you, I was livid. This wasn’t the charming, grumpy-but-hot male lead I’m used to swooning over. Axe was just… mean. But I trust Daisy, having read her previous works. And she delivered.Ultimately, Axe turns out to be one of the few people who really believes in, cares about, and protects Electra. Someone reliable and supportive. 𝐼 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑡. Engrossing & Straight to the HeartWhat follows is a slow, raw unraveling of two people who are as broken as they are stubborn. Thorn does what she does best: she peels back the tough, icy exteriors to reveal the messy, vulnerable humanity underneath.Electra’s pain and bitterness felt so real I wanted to reach into the pages and hug her. The frustration of losing everything you’ve worked for, the helplessness of being treated like you’re worthless—it’s gut-wrenching.But Axe, infuriating as he is, becomes the force she desperately needs. He doesn’t coddle her or offer empty platitudes. Instead, he challenges, pushes, and sees her like no one else.Swoony“𝐼’𝑙𝑙 ℎ𝑢𝑟𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑦𝑜𝑢.”I adored their raw, vulnerable moments. Not in a pity party or a “let’s be toxic together” way. But in a “seeing the beauty and strength in each other’s brokenness and lending that strength in return” kind of way. Allowing each other to feel the pain they buried deep so they can bring it to light and face it head-on.𝐻𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑒, 𝑠𝑜 𝑖𝑡’𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑦. He sees her as more than her accident, more than her lost dreams, and never gives up on her—even when she’s given up on herself. He pushes her, challenges her, and refuses to let her wallow in her pain, not out of cruelty but out of belief in her strength.𝐼 𝑚𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡’𝑣𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑟𝑎 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑠, 𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑒𝑙𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑖𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑖𝑡 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝐼 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑜 𝑚𝑢𝑐ℎ 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑖𝑡.When they first met, both were in a dark place, each “crippled” by the burdens they carried. The pivotal moment that changed everything. Those two little words (don’t worry, no spoilers here) sent shivers down my spine. Goosebumps! I’m talking full-body, heart-pounding, oh-my-God-what’s-happening vibes. I was gasping, holding my breath, and practically praying alongside Electra. The intensity of it all left me stunned. Dumbfounded, exhilarated, and absolutely panicking all at once. It was explosive, unforgettable, and packed with so much emotion. How do you even explain that kind of magic?Daisy Thorn. The storyteller that you are.More than Just a Heart-throbbing RomanceBorn of Ice is raw, fiery, and deeply emotional. Electra and Axe’s story isn’t just about finding love in a hopeless place (yes, that’s a Rihanna song). It’s about fighting for yourself and each other, even when the odds seem impossible. It’s about reigniting that burning flame inside you, even when it feels like it’s been buried under layers of snow for too long. 𝑆ℎ𝑒’𝑙𝑙 𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘, 𝐼’𝑚 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑖𝑡.
