This World Was Not Ready For Michael Jackson

This World Was Not Ready For Michael Jackson
I'm feeling like God brought him here, gave him to us,
and God took him back. This world was not ready for it.
-Jermaine Jackson

A Michael Jackson fan thinking out loud:

This World Was Not Ready For Michael Jackson

We are all put on earth for a purpose, for a mission. Some of us spend our whole lives looking for it, some don't even care what their mission is. They don't search their soul. Content on living day after day on autopilot, walking around like zombies.

Some people are blessed enough to have the clarity and vision of what they are here for at an early age.

Michael Jackson is one of those blessed few who has always known his purpose. That is, to share to the world the union with the divine which he claims he gets in his music, to share his talent, to spread happiness and love to everyone, especially to those who need it the most.

It's a shame that those who couldn't figure out what their lives are about or what their purpose in life is, made him the target of their empty lives. They tried to suck out all the energy he had. They tried to steal from him the light that he saw which they couldn't have.

I think more than anything else, it's envy. They couldn't handle the thought of someone as great as Michael Jackson walking on earth with them while they go around figuring things out, frustrated.

They didn't know how to deal with this phenomenal being with clarity and passion, with a quiet powerful force in him. They couldn't handle it.

They hated that Michael Jackson reminded them of their emptiness and mediocrity

And I'm sorry that an innocent man like Michael Jackson had to suffer their uncontrollable, senseless, childish, miserable act of envy; despite him giving the world his all, his best, his life.

Sad.

  1. While I thought Michael was a musical genius, I think it was the glory the world bestowed upon him that ruined his life. Not so different than Elvis. Glory is meant for the One who created us. Humans can't bear under that title that is heavier than the cosmos.

  2. envy, hatred and other negative feelings that accompany fame are indeed very bad... pity, but we are just humans...

  6. Jichael Mackson was a once in a lifetime talent. I am not going to sing all his praises and say he was beautiful soul since I never really care about his personal life. But whenever he would perform live and do his complicated dance steps while singing, my jaw can't help but drop. That dude was awesome. He may have been weird to some. But dang!

  7. He sure gave a lot to the world indeed.

  11. Hi again, dear Lux! Michael Jackson's music is a multisensory experience. It always takes me to a higher plane. Brilliant individuals with enormous talent tend to be eccentric and are often misunderstood. People fear what they don't understand or that which is different and they allow themselves to hate. Why people choose to fill themselves with venom when it feels so much better to let the pure light of love shine through is beyond me.

  12. I am uncertain what you mean in this post. Michael Jackson's talent was almost universally acknowledged.

  13. I couldn't agree with you more! I love Michael Jackson, but he was misunderstood and misjudged. Awful! MJ was an incredible man!

  14. I was sad the day he died, most people made fun of his post 80's personal life but he sure knew how to make music

  15. He was very lucky to know at such a young age what he was created for. Such a musical genious. His untimely death and so many other young stars reminds me of something I heard a little while ago. That our souls aren't meant for fame. They can't handle the pressure that comes with being known on the scale of stars like Michael. Our culture builds people up just so they can watch them fall. So sad.

  16. I could not agree more...he was magic. My heart and tears this week go to the little bat boy of the Liberal BeeJays...he lived only 45 minutes from me and I pray he knew he'd only be here for a short while...my heart breaks though for those who loved him so much that will have to live the rest of their lives without him. Such a great post!

  22. I thought Michael Jackson was a great performer and I find it sad that he became dependent on prescription medications and between the stress and the meds he died at a young age. I think that he always remained a child at heart and it shows with the Neverland and the zoo he had.

  30. This is such a beautiful post. I've never been much of a fan, since he was famous when I was very little, but it's always nice to learn more about people who had such influence and it's a pity how the negative side of fame, such as haters ruined them :(

  33. As someone else has said, I think it was his fame which destroyed him. He couldn't find room in it to be himself. Always on display.
    Not a life. An existence.

  35. Interesting post, Lux. It is a shame that he will never be remembered for his greatness and gift of music and dance. I remember enjoying listening to his music with my parents growing up and hearing one of his songs, can take me back to a memory where I was the first time I heard it. Thanks for sharing :)

  36. Fantastically written and I do agree with most of what you said, although I think in the end, he wasn't ready for it. The fame, all of it, was too much. We see it with so many other artists. And I also think that when you're that brilliant, so artistic, you might not always know what to do in order to stay sane. If that makes any sense!

  37. methinks he was just crazy :) Even if we forget all the paedophilia cases against him he still treated his own children in such a weird way that those poor kids still have traumas from it.... that is unacceptable... don't be a parent if you are not fit for it

  42. I am also a big fan of MJ... he didn't have a great childhood I supposed because his fame almost took it all away from him..
he expressed it through his song "Childhood"

  55. Music was originated in heaven and is God ordained. It is sad when some musicians pollute music with words that are ugly and not pleasing to God. When a singer has talent and lends themselves to bless people they are a gift from God. May they realize where their gift comes from. Thank you for sharing with us here at Tell me a Story.

  59. Congrats on your post attracting so much attention. ;) I loved Michael Jackson as a singer. As a person, I felt torn. Authorities never were able to convict him of the awful charges he faced. In America, just being associated with child molestation is enough to make some people believe the person is guilty. It is a shame. I wish he had been more careful about the situations in which he put himself so that authorities would never have brought charges against him..
