far more than our abilities.
-J.K. Rowling
We are all wounded and scarred.
Some wounds are deeper, some scars more permanent.
I don't know about you but I'm yet to meet someone, especially an adult who has never been bruised or wounded in life...figuratively speaking.
Indeed if we look closer, we are walking among broken people; wounded souls, scarred hearts, exhausted from the battle of every day life.
Dramatic, isn't it? But, isn't that the truth?
Personally, I know people who are victims of abuse---physical, sexual, verbal abuses by family members, "friends", and even strangers. People who have been struggling with addiction, those who are stuck in toxic relationships, those who are fighting depression, those who are struggling in finances.
Some of these people are denying themselves of healing. That's why you meet full-grown adults acting like toddlers. If they can't be happy, neither can you. Toxic people are everywhere. If you allow them, they can transform you into one of them. Sad. And scary.
Wounded and scarred, we either seek healing and be well, or let the pain taunt us for the rest of our lives, becoming miserable and difficult to deal with.
Wounded and scarred, we can allow the Healer to turn our mourning into dancing or stay and rot in the valley of death.
Wounded and scarred, we are still beautiful, because we are not here by mistake or accident. We are loved, we are His joy, we are made for greatness.
Hello, fellow wounded and scarred soul.
Oh, how beautiful we all are.
Some of these people are denying themselves of healing. That's why you meet full-grown adults acting like toddlers. If they can't be happy, neither can you. Toxic people are everywhere. If you allow them, they can transform you into one of them. Sad. And scary.
Wounded and scarred, it is our choice that determines what we become.
Are we going to use these wounds and scars to help others find their way, or are we going to add more to it by hurting others? In doing so, we hurt ourselves back.Wounded and scarred, we either seek healing and be well, or let the pain taunt us for the rest of our lives, becoming miserable and difficult to deal with.
Wounded and scarred, we can allow the Healer to turn our mourning into dancing or stay and rot in the valley of death.
Wounded and scarred, we either stay down and miss what life has to offer, or get up, dust ourselves off and carry on.
We are all wounded and scarred, whether we like it or not. Whether we accept it and face the truth or forever live in lie and agonize.Wounded and scarred, we are still beautiful, because we are not here by mistake or accident. We are loved, we are His joy, we are made for greatness.
Hello, fellow wounded and scarred soul.
Oh, how beautiful we all are.

Wounds and scars make us all the stronger. Over-protected, we'll end up becoming wimps and sissies.
ReplyDeleteLife can be tough, but it is also a true gift!

Hi, Luxie!
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice piece. There is no such thing as going all the way through life without ever getting wounded and left with scars. That's life. I have found that there are two basic types of people in the world, the ones who use their wounds and scars as a crutch and say, "I failed because of them," and the ones who wear them as a badge of courage and say "I succeeded in spite of them."
Thank you, dear friend Lux!
This is a wise addition to what Lux have already written above.
DeleteSome days can be so hard but then we read posts like this and are encouraged to dust ourselves off & carry on. Thank you & hope you have a good Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat inspiring words, I think it can be difficult to let go of the past but it's important to live in the present and to enjoy it
ReplyDeleteWounded and scarred, we are all beautiful people. Jesus is able to heal all our pain and wounds and make us beautiful once again. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteToxic people I stray away from, as many have it hard, but they don't take it out on others or try to suck others down with them.
ReplyDeleteInspiring and true post.
ReplyDeleteHi Lux,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and it is so true

Oh, Lux ... you said it well.
ReplyDeleteWe're all wounded in some way. Every single one of us. How that plays itself out varies from person to person.
Let's show each other grace. Let's keep reminding each other that we have choices how we respond to what's been thrown at us. And let's keep talking to the Healer of our souls in the process ...
How beautiful we all are - I love this quote! SO perfect for life...

it's true, we all bear wounds and scars from our life experiences ... hopefully we can help each other heal!
ReplyDeleteWhen you are in toxic relationship, it's often hard to realize you are in it. Good to see yourself from outside, and cut the toxic people out of your life. You get wounded and scarred but you don't have to suffer forever. Stay positive, that's my motto :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, full of hope and love...
ReplyDeleteBut remember time can cure everything.
ReplyDeleteLovely post dear! Have a great week! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding us that we're still beautiful. Our struggles shape us and refine us and God will turn them around for his glory.
ReplyDeleteLux, this is the second time today I am hearing such a message as yours. God is really speaking to me; thanks! Beautifully written and truth to apply.
ReplyDeleteThose wounds heal, and scars fade over time :) We are all beautiful! :)

This is excellent insight! Many people enjoy the drama and attention that their scars and wounds bring to them, and would rather have that then be healed. It is a choice, just like you said. Wonderful writing :)
ReplyDeleteTotally the truth- we have all been hurt (and are in the process of healing) in some way!

May be just may be I needed to read this today. So beautiful woven and inspiring. LOVED it and a big thank you for sharing this. sometimes you need to read something and the universe sends it across at the right time.
ReplyDeleteWe just have to carry on carrying on. #Dreamteam
ReplyDeleteYour words are true beauty. We are walking among the broken and wounded. Some of us just hide it better than others. Thank you for this truth today!
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful words Lux. Recently I was reflecting on why do peeps who claim to be healers, buddhists, spiritualists, etc are so warped in their heads that they go around hurting people with out any thought? Why does following the mystic art make you insecure or short sighted? Reading your words I realise these are all hurt people who are looking for answers - but blindly following is not leading to any resolution in their life and they are taking it out on the world! I have "rid" myself of such peeps from my life as I dont want to get sucked into their sickness!!
ReplyDelete"Wounded and scarred, we are still beautiful, because we are not here by mistake or accident. We are loved, we are His joy, we are made for greatness." Yes, we are all wounded and scarred, but there is still beauty! Thank you for reminding us of this.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you! I'm your neighbor at #TestimonyTuesday.
If we didn't get hurt we wouldnt be living. The hurts can make us break but what we do with the pieces is up to us. #dreamteam
ReplyDeleteVerdade! ;D

Ótima quarta!

Over my lifetime, I've learned (and am still learning) that scars can either be reminders of wounds, or precious memorials to the grace and mercy of God. thanks for your post
ReplyDeleteSo true- we are all wounded and scarred and while mostly we didn't have any choice over what caused that we do have a choice about how we respond. We can let it make us bitter and angry or we can seek healing and let it develop compassion to help others.
ReplyDeleteWe all have our personal struggles and no two of us have the same history. I wish we could bear this in mind when we come face to face, or computer to computer, social media to social media. There's nothing so incredible as compassion, eh? Because we're all wounded. Because we'd like others to tolerate our wounds.
ReplyDeleteexcellent reflexion dear

Stay calm, but don't fail to stand up again to move on. Tough though I know, but we got to move on.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. All of us have been wounded, but we should go on and help others. Life is hard but also very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJasmine xx
It's amazing how hard we fight against pain and yet how redemptive it is. Beautiful reflection, Lux.
ReplyDeleteVery true - we are all wounded and scarred, and when we refuse to see or heal from it fully, we become broken and toxic no matter how pretty a face we try to put on in front of the world.
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful post ! Its important to shoutout this important message to the world.
ReplyDeleteLove it

This was a beautiful and thought-provoking post, you make a very good point about everything coming down to choice - both before and after we've been hurt!

So true that we are all wounded and scarred. I remind myself that I don't know what's going on in somebody's life when they do something unexpected or thoughtless. Who knows what news they may have just received? Great words.
ReplyDeleteInspiring!
ReplyDeletevery true.....we are in this for a battle of survival...
ReplyDeleteI just heard a quote yesterday that comes to mind as I read your words: "When God wants to do an impossible task, he finds an impossible person and crushes them." It is in the crushing that we are wounded and scarred, and yet this is part of the process of becoming poured out wine and broken bread.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
Beautiful post, Lux. We truly are all scarred in some way and we can use that to add to the pain in our world or we can use it for good. When we hand the scars over to God He can make beauty for those ashes.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and smiles,
Lori
This is why I try not to judge others. We have no idea what wounds and scars others are covering up and hiding. We look at people and think they are okay, but we don't know what is under the surface. Great post!
ReplyDelete~Jess
Wounded and beautiful. I like it.
ReplyDeleteAll human beings are wounded and scarred. This is the reason why Jesus has to suffer and bear wounds and scar so as to finally heal us.
ReplyDeleteLife can truly be battle field sometimes. We can choose to let the valleys swallow us up or like you said, dust off and look on up. But yes we are all still beautiful . Great write up, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
