Life Lessons 6 Empowering Movies & Shows Every Woman Should Watch 4:36 PM Want to celebrate International Women's Day? Or maybe you just need the inspiration to help you through a tough day. Then you should check these six empowering movies and shows every woman should watch to feel inspired and get her groove back.Hidden Figures (2016)Erin Brockovich (2000)Mulan (1998)Miss Scarlet & the Duke (2020)The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)Funny Woman (2023)Hidden Figures (2016)Hidden Figures tells the story of a team of female African American mathematicians who played a vital role in the early years of the NASA United States space program. Each faced challenges in their department, dealt with condescending superiors and coworkers, worked hard to break the system and change the rules, and proved how they were better than society's perception. It's hard enough to be a woman in a male-dominated environment in the 60s, much more for women of color. But these empowering women didn't surrender, so their names went down in history.Lessons I learned from Hidden Figures Persistence pays. The team is as good as their mentor. If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door. Don't settle for a dead end when you can make a detour.Advocate for and support other women.Believe in your abilities even when others don't.Erin Brockovich (2000)Based on the true story of a single mother who becomes a legal assistant and helps to win a landmark case against a major corporation, this film inspires every woman struggling. You may call it the desperation of a single mom who wants to feed her kids that got Erin Brocovich's foot inside the door. But her wit, heart to help the victims, and grit made her the millionaire she is today. Lessons I learned from Erin BrockovichBe unapologetically you.Follow your instincts.Use what you have because what you have is enough. The goodness you give will come back to you a hundredfold.Behind every woman's success is herself - and an understanding partner.Look at everything as an opportunity; to network, learn, and move forward.Let the people in your life know how much they mean to you before it's too late.Mulan (1998) This animated film tells the story of a young woman who disguises herself as a man to take her father's place in the army and save China from invaders. Following tradition and family rules is difficult when your heart tells you otherwise. Mulan was only 16 when she left to join the army. You can only imagine her fear, knowing what lies ahead. She could get persecuted by her own people if they found out who - or what - she was and could die in the battle. But that did not deter her from protecting her father and her family.Lessons I learned from MulanWork smarter, not harder.Do it afraid. It's okay even if you don't feel like you belong. You are meant to create your own path.Faith it til you make it.Don't let your gender, age, or present situation define your destiny.Miss Scarlet and the Duke (2020)This series is about Eliza Scarlet, a female detective who wants to keep her father's legacy alive and follow her passion for solving crimes at a time when women who spoke up or had their own careers were still taboo. But, because of her limited resources and polite society's rules, she has to work double, resort to unconventional and sometimes unlawful methods, and seek her childhood friend Detective William Wellington's help to keep her business afloat and help victims find justice. You'll love Eliza's mischief and wit, her love-hate banter with William, the thrill of her next case and career move, or where their complex friendship will lead them.Lessons I learned from Miss Scarlet and the DukeHave gumption even in the face of those who don't believe in you.Don't sacrifice your happiness and passion for following society's standards.Things will not always go as planned...so always have a Plan B.Be humble enough to ask for help.It pays to be observant and patient. If the door closes, climb through the window. (Literally is the case for Eliza in the show)The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)Miriam "Midge" Maisel was accidentally discovered in a comedy bar after her husband left her. A female standup comic was unheard of in the 50s. But she gets sexist comments and unfair treatment because she's not only pretty but also funnier and wittier than the men in the industry. But, of course, that doesn't stop Midge from being the marvelous force that she is.Lessons I learned from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Don't dim your light for others to shine.Embrace who you are and use your strength to your advantage.Don't run after someone who doesn't see your value.Keep the people who believe in you.Know when to prioritize yourself.Be open to change.Break the mold, even when your own family doesn't support you.Funny Woman (2023)Another series about a woman breaking the mold, Funny Woman, is based on Nick Horby's Funny Girl book It is about Barbara Parker, a girl from Blackpool who's got her future lined up for her, a beauty queen working in her father's factory, and a fiance who adores her. But that's not what she wants. Instead, she wants to build a career doing comedy. Fighting sexism and finding her own voice, Funny Woman is a delight to watch. Lessons I learned from Funny WomanDon't settle for the good life when you can have a great one.Don't let rejection discourage you from moving forward.Be tenacious with your dreams. What empowering movies and shows about remarkable women who dare make a difference do you watch to inspire you? Listicle 10 TV Shows To Binge-Watch Before 2022 Ends 7:40 PM 10 TV Shows To Binge-Watch Before 2022 Ends Are you looking for more TV shows to binge-watch before 2022 ends? Here are ten TV series that I highly recommend, especially for fans of period drama, crime series, dragons, fantasy, and comedy.10 TV Shows To Binge-Watch Before 2022 Ends1. Miss Scarlet and the DukeEliza Scarlet is at the marrying age but not the marrying type. Instead, she loves solving crimes like her late father did, despite living at a time when female detectives were unthinkable and laughable. To save herself from poverty after her father's demise, she can either marry an eligible gentleman or fend for herself. So, ignoring patriarchal discrimination and prejudice, she became her own boss and started - well, continued her father's private detective business. She gets into trouble for trying to catch criminals, but Duke is always there to help her, albeit reluctantly. Why I love this show: I love period drama! There's something idyllic about it, even when the plots are chaotic. Detective series. Makes my mind work, trying to solve the case with Eliza.Woman power. It's no easy feat to prove, especially to a room full of ego and bravado, that you're better and smarter than they are, but Eliza makes it happen.Inspirational. Paving your path in an unwelcoming world takes gumption. It's well-made and easy to watch.Eliza and William could very well be a rom-com couple you'd love to ship2. The OutlanderFor some mysterious reason, Claire Randall was transported back 200 years in the past. To survive the barbaric time, she had to marry Jamie Fraser. Claire didn't plan to fall in love with Jamie but needed to return to her present to escape the war. My heart goes out to Frank, Claire's husband, but I can't bear to look at him after Claire returns. Viewers and book fans would understand. Why I love this show: I'm not a fan of codependent relationships, but Jamie and Claire's love for each other proves how powerful love can be. It defies time.Total admiration for the author of the novel on which the story is based. Such a brilliant mind to come up with this complex and beautiful story. It makes you root for one character and despise the other effortlessly. Their fight for survival and freedom is admirable.3. Only Murders in the BuildingAn unlikely friendship between three residents in the Upper West Side was born from their mutual love for solving crimes. Why I love this show: The light comedy is a breath of fresh air.Wonderful cast! Love their dynamics and chemistry.Crime mystery will get you hooked.4. The Lord of the Rings: Ring of PowerThis series received a lot of hate from solid book fans. But for someone content with visual entertainment, I love this series. Ring of Power is based on J.R.R Tolkien's series that talks about the story of Middle Earth thousands of years before The Hobbit. It's a backstory of the powerful rings in the Lord of the Rings. Why I love this show: Perfect cinematography.Breathtaking visual effects.I love getting to know about the story before and behind the story.5. House of the DragonSpeaking of perfection and great prequels, House of the Dragons is a must-watch TV show before 2022 ends. If you're a fan of Game of Thrones, HOTD was set 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen was born. It's still about the fight for the iron throne, but this time, it's Targaryerns vs. Targaryerns - the dragon riders. Why I love this show: Mesmerizing cinematography. You know the ending (because there will be no Game of Thrones if it all ends up good), but you'd still be hooked.Perfect casting.6. The Lincoln LawyerAlso based on a novel, Lincoln Lawyer is about Mickey Haller, a notable lawyer who is back to revive his career after an accident and an incident in his past case that still haunts him. He's famous for working at the back of his Lincoln car, thus, the name. This is a binge-worthy quality show you need to watch before 2022 ends. Why I love this show: Smart! This thriller crime series will keep you guessing until the crime is solved.I love Mickey's team. They make do with what they have, and it's more than enough.7. Dolunay (Full Moon)I've seen four Turkish series, but this is the least annoying plot. 😅 Turkish series basically follow the same theme:Rich, arrogant, stringent businessman.Simple, carefree, clever, strong woman. They fall in love and try to hide their feelings. They fake a relationship, engagement, or marriage. Or they fake it first before they fall in love. Fight against family, exes, current love interests, and business nemeses. Finally win the fight and live happily ever after.Dolunay is no different, but it's the least ridiculous so far. There are many scenes in a Turkish drama that will get you face-palming. Or shaking your head and saying, "Everyone's that stupid? Nobody figured that out? You must talk about that top secret loudly in a public place?"Dolunay is not only tolerable, but it's also likable. Why I love this show: Ferit and Nazli's chemistry.Ferit's house.Ferit and Nazli's fight for an innocent boy's future. The view. Turkey is a beautiful place I wish to visit someday.8. The EmpressAnother treat for period drama fans. It follows the story of Elisabeth, a hardheaded unfeminine lady who was only supposed to accompany her sister, the planned betrothed of Emperor Franz of the Viennese court. The emperor ended up choosing her. She lived a complex life, having to follow the rules, stand up for herself, and be worthy of her title while following her heart and wanting to help bring peace to the empire. Why I love this show: Another fascinating period drama. She wanted to marry for love and not for convenience. And she did. The story gets better and better, so I hope there's a season 2.9. So Help Me ToddScrupulous and controlling mother but brilliant lawyer Margaret Wright had to hire her Blacksheep son Todd when he proved he could be an asset in solving crimes. This mother-and-son comedic duo is a delight to watch. Definitely, a 2022 TV show to binge-watch before the year ends. Why I love this show: Such talented castLove the mother-son dynamicsFunny and witty linesLigh,t despite the crimes10. Young SheldonIf you're a Big Bang Theory fan, you'll love Young Sheldon. It's Sheldon Cooper's origin story, how he was when he was a child, his family, and their lives before Sheldon became the Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Why I love this show: It makes me laugh out loud.Witty lines and an impeccable cast.An imperfect family that's hard not to love. What TV shows do you binge-watch this 2022? Hope you can add these to your list before the year ends. Hero image
Listicle 9 Things To Look Forward To In Entertainment This 2022 10:59 AM What are the things you're looking forward to in entertainment this 2022?Can't imagine what our lives would be like if in the middle of this p a n d e m i c, Hollywood isn't here to entertain us. God bless Netflix, Spotify, Hulu, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, and all other streaming sites. I'm forever thankful for the entertainment industry! What have you been binge-watching or listening to lately? I have a few. Most of them I've already finished (in one sitting!). So I'm really looking forward to more of these shows, albums, and movies this year. This post contains affiliate links, so we'd get a commission if you purchase through the links at no additional cost to you.9 Things to Look Forward to in Entertainment This 2022 1. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4Set in the late 1950s, this series follows the story of Miriam "Midge" Maisel. She is a doting and supportive wife, mother, stubborn but loving daughter, and a woman who's trying to break the mold of women during her time. Why I love it:I love Midge's quick wit, sense of humor, and resilience.I love how she's naturally funny and doesn't let men, her family, the industry, or societal stereotyping scare her from pursuing her passion. I love how she stands up for herself, even if that means ruffling many feathers. And Tony Shalhoub! From Mr. Monk to Midge's dad, his comedic timing is notable. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is another Amy Sherman-Palladino masterpiece that's impossible not to love. The 4th season will be released on February 18, 2022, on Amazon Prime. Get 30 days FREE trial on Amazon.2. The Great Season 3This dramedy satire is about Catherine the Great's journey from an outsider to the longest-ruling female monarch in Russia. It changed my view about period dramas. Why I love it:Another series that's about a woman's rise to power and strength of character. I love her eagerness to change the rotten system and push for basic rights like proper education despite everyone looking at her like she's a big joke. She pushes on even when she feels like she doesn't belong and with almost everyone betraying her.Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult are both amazing in their roles.I love how they both slowly realized that they love each other. There's no release date yet for season 3, but Elle Fanning posted a teaser video on her Instagram.I'm looking forward to seeing more of Peter's (Nicholas) character development.Huzzah!3. Bridgerton Season 2The Bridgerton series is based on a collection of eight novels written by Julia Quinn. It's about the eight siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family finding their way in life and finding love. Why I love it:Am I the only one who wished Daphne Bridgerton ended up with the prince instead of the duke?I get it, though. A good girl meets bad boy love story really sells. And in the end, I love how the duke realized that his love for Daphne was more important than the grudge he was holding.I love the colorful dresses too---except those of the Featherington's. My favorite is Eloise Bridgerton. She couldn't care less about being social and her debut. Another lady doesn't want to conform to society and be herself. The mystery behind Lady Whistledown's true identity adds to the excitement of the show. I'm usually able to guess, but I didn't see this one coming.Bridgerton Season 2 will premiere on 25 March 2022 on Netflix.4. Only Murders in the Building Season 2OMITB is a mystery-comedy about three strangers living in an affluent Upper West Side apartment building. They bonded over their shared obsession with a true-crime podcast they got to use in solving their neighbor's murder. Why I love it:I love a mystery where just when you thought you knew who did it and how the story went, another plot twist will leave you clueless again.Steve Martin and Martin Short are Hollywood treasures. I love how they can effortlessly make you laugh. I love that you'd be surprised where the comedy would come in. You'd be so hooked on the story, and suddenly there's a line that will crack you up.Selena is lovable, as always.Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building could arrive as early as mid-2022.5. House of the DragonFinally, we'd get to see the story of the House Targaryen during the civil war that took place about 300 years before the Game of Thrones.I've not read the book, but because I like GOT series (except for the last 3 seasons, maybe), I am looking forward to learning more about Daenyres' ancestors and who among them was mad or was great. Or both? There's no release date yet, but House of the Dragon will likely premiere in the back half of 2022.6. The BatmanBatman faces one of his nemeses, The Riddler, and discovers corruption that connects to his own family. Why I love it:He may not be the most lovable DC superhero, but I like how, despite not having superpowers, Batman makes do with what he has- wealth and wit- to save his crime-riddled home city, Gotham. He is still fighting his own demons from his dark past, but he's there to defend and protect those who can't fight for themselves.I'm curious how Robert Pattinson's Batman would be different from the previous ones. The Batman is due in US cinemas on March 4, 2022.7. Shadow and Bone Season 2A young adult fantasy adventure novel adaptation by Leigh Bardugo, Shadow and Bone is about Alina Starkov. She didn't know that she possessed a powerful ability to destroy what their people had feared and changed her otherwise ordinary life since time immemorial. Why I love it:I love a good escape from reality, and Shadow and Bone offer that. From magical creatures to supernatural abilities, it can take you to places you've never imagined.I love the bond between Alina and Mal. I'm excited to know if neophytes like them could defeat someone as adept as the Darkling. It reminds me of the usual heroes who were forced to stand up against evil, like Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, and Tris Prior.Season 2 of Shadow and Bone will be released by the end of 2022 or early 2023.8. Taylor Swift's next album Fearless and Red Taylor's versions were on repeat on my phone when she released them in 2021. As always, TayTay's secretive when it comes to releasing her music, but she might be dropping her versions of Reputation or 1989 anytime this 2022.Reputation is my favorite album, so I'm really excited for her to remake it.Will there be another bomb in these albums like Mr. Perfectly Fine and All Too Well 10 minutes version? I don't know, but anything is possible with Taylor Swift's genius.9. Marvel movies and showsI wish that Marvel would never stop producing movies and shows---even with critics saying they're destroying the movie industry. We need a little bit of inspiration and hope, especially at this time, and I think superhero movies give us that.Moon Knight, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, She-Hulk, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special are on my list.Life may be hard because of this v i r u s, but I'm glad that we live in the superhero movies era. The inner child in me rejoices. All Gifs from GiphyI am eternally grateful to the entertainment industry. For keeping us sane and being a great company in these trying times. A silver lining indeed. What do you look forward to in entertainment this 2022?
Lux Thinking Aloud Friends and Chosen 12:57 PM Following what I did previously which was Disconnect, I spent today away from the social media. This day is about TV shows Friends and Chosen Friends and Chosen After watching the Palm Sunday service, I binge-watched Friends. I am late in the party, I know. I'm only on Season 5. But I'm happy I did. Especially at this time. Which Friends character do you identify with? My husband asked me this question. I said Monica. Because I like things organized. Though I don't cook, I do love watching cooking shows and daydream of cooking those delicious dishes myself. I took a fun quiz and it says I'm more of a Phoebe. Not bad. I've transitioned to veganism for the same reason Phoebe doesn't eat meat. Giphy We need shows like Friends. During this global crisis, we certainly need to find humor in things. To not forget to laugh. The Chosen is the first-ever-multi-season TV show about the life of Jesus. My husband discovered it through an ad and checked it out. Today we started watching episode 1. It has a different approach compared to other films about Christ. It is more about the people around him. On the first episode, Jesus only appeared in the last part. I hope to see more exciting scenes on this series. Today is the start of the Holy Week. What I got from the message in today's homily is this: God was able to make a big sacrifice because of His big love for us. Giving up Your one and only son is no easy feat. I don't know any parent who is willing to offer their child's life for the good of other people. Especially sinners. Do you want to understand God's great love better? We humans have a limited understanding. We cannot fathom God's wisdom and love. But here's something I can suggest. Watch this video about a man and his son who loves train. WARNING: You will need a lot of tissues. My disconnect post yesterday is perfect timing for the Holy Week. Social media and desserts is what I usually sacrifice during this time. That's nothing compared to God's ultimate sacrifice but it's something. And it really is a sacrifice for me. I'm a sweet tooth. Well, so far Day 6 is much better than the previous days. It made a huge difference not reading the news and checking social media. I think I can survive this qu arantine. I hope you can too. Hang in there. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Your turn Do you also give up something during the Holy Week? What is it? What did you do today that you didn't do during the previous days of qu arantine?
People Evan Golden: Dawn of Golden TV 7:00 PM Do you believe in serendipity? For Evan Golden of Eye of South Florida and Golden TV's successful career as a print and television model, entertainment, and sports reporter, you can say it has played a significant role. That fateful day MTV producers saw him was the dawn of golden TV, so to speak. Why Golden TV? Most shows are just taking so much air time but not delivering quality. In short, you sit there, and in the end, you gain nothing. You just wasted hours of your life you won’t be getting back. You sit there and wonder, “What did I just watch?” Sad to say, young people---especially children--- are sometimes left alone or allowed by their parents or guardians to watch on their own. Curiosity or poor judgment may lead them to watch TV shows unsuitable for their young minds.Media is a vast and powerful influence in children’s formative years, developing behavior and educating the public. TV is one accessible tool that can do all that.Evan Golden offers edutainment. Evan said in his own wise words, “Edutainment is a form of entertainment designed to educate as well as amuse.” Getting educated does not have to be boring, and that’s how Evan delivers his shows. When you turn on your cable TV (or streaming platforms), there are thousands of shows to choose from. When watching interviews and shows on TV, look for Evan Golden. This guy knows how to add value to what he does, which in the same way, adds value to his viewers. About Evan Golden I’ve mentioned serendipity playing a significant role in Evan Golden’s life. That is because although he has loved the camera since college and did some co-hosting programs in his school, it was only by chance that he got discovered and started his career as a TV personality. He was accompanying his sister for an audition for MTV. The expert eyes of MTV producers saw a star in Evan and asked him to audition for a special with actress, singer, and dancer Carmen Electra. He auditioned and, not surprisingly, got the part. The rest is golden TV history. Evan Golden’s page Shows Evan Golden appeared in:Trigger HappyThe Mandy Moore ShowWanna Come In (MTV) He was most recognized when he appeared on the reality show Ivana Young Man hosted by Ivana Trump. Aside from being a print model, he also appeared in advertisements like Ovaltine (More Ovaltine, please?!), Walt Disney Wilderness Lodge, Bowman’s Online Sports, Orange, E!, and Rockstar Energy Drink. You can see Evan interviewing big shots in the entertainment and sports industry. Now he’s a successful TV producer and host of Eye on South Florida. Golden Heart Aside from his career in edutainment, Evan is also a philanthropist. He is giving back and supporting charities like Meadow’s Movement in honor of the memory of Meadow Pollack, a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who was shot with 17 other students and staff members. Golden TV Nowadays, everyone can host and run their own shows. The competition to be the best is challenging. The good thing is viewers are now more intelligent. They don’t just watch to be entertained. They tend to learn too. They know that every second spent is a learning opportunity. And that’s where edutainment becomes a standard when looking for something to pass your time. If you dig a little deeper, you’ll find gold on TV with Evan Golden’s Golden TV.
Rants The Not So Legendary Ending Of How I Met Your Mother 8:21 PM The Not So Legendary Ending Of How I Met Your Mother Spoiler alert! Just finished watching the not so legendary ending of How I Met Your Mother. I can’t believe that’s how How I Met Your Mother ended! Not cool. After all the heartaches Ted had to endure for nine long seasons, he will end up with Robin? Ugh! It was not mentioned that Ted and Robin got back together in the end. But, it’s not rocket science. Ted has and will always love Robin. Robin finally saw the light and realized that Ted is every woman’s ideal husband. Robin deserves Barney. Duh. But, Ted? He doesn’t deserve Robin. He deserves Tracy. Then again, CBS left us with no choice. Somewhere along the story, Tracy died. As if Ted hasn't been through a lot yet. As if he didn't have enough heartaches in the past yet. So what will poor Theodore do? Go back to his old love Robin who is (surprise, surprise) still single and living with her dogs. As if Robin can just trash and recycle Ted every time. I’m happy that Ted finally found her one true love in Tracy. I’m happy that Lily and Marshall are still together (they are the happily ever after every couple need to emulate). I’m not surprised that Barney is still living his legendary life the way he thinks it must be lived. Although now, he's priority is his love child. I’m just disappointed that after finally living his dream life, Ted will again fall back with Robin. Because he's got no choice anymore. Because his one big love Tracy died. Can life be more cruel? I've got nothing against Robin. She's a loyal friend. She's brave and bold enough to know what she wants and live her life at her own terms. She's not afraid to be alone. She gets what she wants and she's tough. No wonder men go after her. It's just that---I'll say it again and again, Ted doesn't deserve her. Ted deserves more. Ted is too good for her. There must be another way to end this series. It must be--- like the rest of the episodes in the nine long series, legendary. Please. T.V. How I Learned To Love How I Met Your Mother 9:23 AM How I Learned To Love How I Met Your Mother When I first saw the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, I thought it was lame. I thought the lines weren't funny, the story dragged and the characters were shallow. That's because I watched the 3rd episode of the 5th series. Naturally, I couldn't appreciate the story. I don't know who these people are, how they've arrived there, why they talked that way. So I changed the channel and totally forgot about it. It was Robin 101, where Ted---the guy who tells the story of how he met the mother of his two kids, was teaching Barney---his crazy womanizer of a friend, things he need to know about Robin. Ted dated Robin for a while and remained friends with her after that. It was quite a twist for Barney to fall in love with Robin if you know how Barney is with women. It's even crazier for Robin to fall for Barney, as she's the type who doesn't prioritize romance. I actually kind of hate her more often than not because she can be slutty at times. When I found out that one of my fave bloggers (Bitchy Miss Ilongga) loves the show, I got curious and gave it another shot. So I watched the pilot episode...and instantly fell in love with the show! Meet the How I Met Your Mother Characters: Ted Mosby is every hopeless romantic's kind of guy. Committed, passionate about his work as an architect, a loyal friend, sensible, managed to stay sane and strong (with his friend's support) despite the trauma of being left at the altar, relentless in his quest for finding his one true love, quirky but in an adorable kind of way. Ted is someone who takes life and love seriously---so much so sometimes that it leaves him always heartbroken. Every woman's dream guy. Marshall Eriksen is Lily's long time boyfriend, turned fiance, turned husband and Ted's longest and best friend (although Barney always objects). He's the most unrealistic of all characters. He's got the kindest heart, he's only had sex with one woman all his life! He feels guilty liking women that he needs to imagine Lily dying before fantasizing about them. He's a lawyer and the tallest and largest of them, but he seems to be the most childish, kindest, gentlest and innocent among the group. Lily Aldrin is still Willow to me (Buffy, The Vampire Slayer's best friend). She's still this awkward petite red hair who speaks softly, somewhat poker face but can really be funny. The woman is uncanny whenever she plots and makes things happen the way she wants them. She's a preschool teacher. For me, that's the ultimate job. Robin Scherbatsky. The character I like the least. She's slutty. She'll sleep with almost any guy out there who'll hit with her, she's scared of talking about her feelings, she runs away from romance. She's very dedicated with her profession though, plus she can be the girl friend whom you can run to and will defend you whenever necessary, I'll give her that. Barney Stinson. Barney, Barney, Barney. What will ll the group do without you? He's the life of the party. He's the male counterpart of Robin; will sleep with any hot chick he sees and he's been so hurt in the past that he's scared to commit again as well. He's always "suiting up", he's got theories nobody wants to hear but he's always eager to share and Barney for Barney is the "awesomest" guy who's ever walked on earth. I follow his blog and it never fails to make me laugh like a loony every time I read it. Sometimes you'll hate his callousness but, secretly he's got a genuine heart and he's also loyal to his friends. Gotta love Barnabas Stinson. There's really nothing extraordinary about these 5 people who regularly meet at McLaren's Bar, talk about their day and try as much as they can to help one another whenever a crisis arise. They love to make fun of each other but takes their friendship seriously. I guess everyone with friends would understand that the weirder, the quirkier, the more annoying someone can be, the more lovable they are (sometimes). This show will make you laugh out loud, but you'll also learn a lot from the characters' flaws and adventures, the reality they present and you'll love the genuine friendship these 5 people share. We all have friends who can drive us crazy but whom we're also crazy about. Friends whom we can certainly grow old with. All of us long for the day when we can sit with our kids and tell them the incredible story of how we met their mother (or father). I think the moment I realized that was when I learned to love How I Met Your Mother. It was, wait for it....legendary! Photos: Google images Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining? T.V. Sherlock TV Series 1:06 AM Sherlock TV Series I first heard it from a friend and I knew instantly that Sherlock T.V. series would be a big hit. I was right. From the pages of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes to the big screen and now, on TV this British TV series got me hooked! First season was aired on 2010 with only 3 episodes. Second season with 3 episodes too came out 2012. Only 3 for you to beg for more but just enough to excite and satisfy you. Maybe the producers didn't want their viewers to die of brain hemorrhage due to information overload. Sherlock TV series is on top of my favorite TV shows to date. I just love how it's done. When Sherlock starts explaining the crime scenes or analyzing people and telling their stories by simply observing the way they look and move at a very high speed that he's almost like babbling, there's only one word that comes in mind---amazing. Really, makes you go "wow!" He also has his own "mind palace" where he stores information in his mind and as Watson, his flatmate turned assistant and faithful friend explained, like a map he created in his head where he would go back to find things or information he stored and so he never gets lost. For someone with short term memory loss like myself, that is just astonishing. I love it when he's showing off and admits it unabashedly. He knows he's different but he doesn't feel sorry for it. In fact he's sorry for other people who is not and will never be him. I like it that he doesn't give a damn what people would think, say and write about him because he knows who he really is. In his own words he is a "show off". When he gets bored and throws a tantrum because there's no case to solve-- ah, too adorable. He doesn't eat when he's on a case because he said digestion slows his brains down. And he seldom sleeps. Weird, yes. But in a charming kind of way. Sherlock loves Mrs. Hudson, his landlady who insists she's not his housekeeper but looks after him like a kid. Cute. Like all men, Sherlock's downfall is of course, a woman. "The Woman" by the name of Irene Adler. First time he saw her, he couldn't figure out what kind of a person she is. Which brought panic to our dear Mr. Holmes as it was the first time that he's got zero information about someone in front of him. Then again, he is Sherlock Holmes and so he still beat her in the end. I'm done with all six episodes. It was a struggle stopping myself from watching all 6 in one night. Why do we have to work at day time when there is a TV series as great as Sherlock to watch? Now I'm biting my nails waiting for Season 3. Spoiler alert: I'm dying to know how he faked his own death when Watson saw him fall from the rooftop! 2013 couldn't come early, could it?
